How to tighten "man-boob" skin?

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

My boyfriend is extremely bothered by the way his chest looks. He has recently lost a lot of weight, and although he still has a ways to go, his issue now are his "man-boobs".

The thing is is that they’re not filled with excesse fat. It’s the saggy, stretched skin that’s left from him losing weight. He’s only 25 so is it possible for him to naturally tone and pull that skin back up without having to have surgery?

Also, how do you get someone to exercise when they’re in no shape to start?

I had lost 120 pounds. My excess skin across my midsection literally looked like an apron of flesh. My skin can come off of my abdominal wall. No amount of exercise would fix that. I had to go in for an abdominalplasty and liposuction. In the abdominalplasty they reattached my skin to the abdominal wall. AS far as my chest goes, I was able to get it to look normal through a lot of chest workouts. A muscled chest will erase the man-boobs (or Moobies as I like to call them).

I’d suggest that he lose the weight slowly and work on doing a lot of chest exercises. That will tone it up. If it doesn’t, he might need surgery to get the skin removed. If he lost a bunch of weight, his insurance might even pay for the surgery to remove the excess skin. Have hm SERIOUSLY look into it. My surgery was $7,000.00 in the clinic or $10,000.00 if I would’ve been knocked out completely in the hospital. I found out later that my insurance might’ve paid for it.

As far as your exercise question. It is best to either start with a diet or start with an exercise plan first. if you’re changing your diet, you don’t need to exercvise right away. If you are exercising you don’t need to diet right away. Once that person gets into an established healthy eating or heathly exercise routine, that si when they can start incorporating the other. So if your friend is too heavy to exercise, start witha diet and eventually incorporate exercise. By the way, there is no such thing as being too fat to exercise. I saw a show on TLC about a man who was 1250 pounds. He was bedridden but danced and girated in his bed for exercise,. he lost 400 pounds.

How can i lose a lot of belly, chest, and moob (man boob) fat before spring break?

Sit ups for the gut, and flies for the boobs, some shoulder work too will help for shape,
a tip would be to actually build your chest to make your stomach look smaller in comparison, if a t shirt hangs from your chest straight down,, even if your belly sticks out a bit it may be hidden,
depends on the extend to your problem,
be active, eat right, healthy and amounts,,, is all easy to say,
the trick is to do.

The best starting exercise for getting rid of ANY fat is pushing away from the table. After that, anything you do will be on the positive side – biking, swimming, walking, you name it.

I’m not Ken and She’s not Barbie…thank God

Please tell me that you know better than to believe what the media tells you about what the opposite gender is attracted to. I mean, you don’t believe all that drivel you are fed on a constant basis…do you?
Oh, I know. It’s easy to get brainwashed by the exhortations to lose the weight, gain the bust size, re-grow the hair, get rid of the hair, etc., etc., etc. Somewhere along the line, some of us even started believing that women should have six-pack abs and tight biceps (as if men are attracted to masculine features). Taller, blonder, darker, leaner, lighter, darker, curvier, straighter, bigger, faster, more, more, more.
Last weekend Emily and I were in California, and decided to check out Beverly Hills. Well, 90210 lives up to its hype in every way. So much money, and so much frustration wrapped up in one (expensive) package. We saw one woman who literally had undergone so much plastic surgery that she was a shadow of who she was supposed to be. And her insecurity was written all over her face. Here was a woman who had every resource in the world available to her, made use of them all, and was still categorically miserable.
The sad irony of all of this is that the vast majority of us don’t even find the media’s representation of “beauty” attractive…at least not when it comes to finding a mate. In fact, despite the steady message of perceived inadequacy we are all fed, I’ve happened upon an amazing realization: A surprising number of us (and maybe even you) tend to be particularly attracted to someone who is the opposite-gender version of who we are.
And here’s a news flash: I’m not a Ken doll.
And guess what? I don’t find “Barbie” sexually attractive in the least.
Let me tell you what I mean. Forget those “Miss America” types. Give me a petite little brunette drenched in “cuteness”. I want cheeks I can pinch. Forget the long flowing “goldilocks” and give me that spunky, wispy short hair. Drop the plans for a “boob job” and keep it proportional. And for heaven’s sake, EAT something. I want someone I can hug. OK…pierce the belly button and I have to admit that rounds out a perfect female package. That and the manicure / pedicure combo. Bright pink, please. Oh yeah.
And in return, I will be the best man I know how to be, and will take care of myself in a manner that demonstrates self-respect. By doing so, I will deserve what I want.
And what I want isn’t necessarily what the media is telling me I should want. But what an amazing feeling of freedom to be able to have the courage to find a mate who meets my own exacting specifications, rather than someone else’s.
So guess what? The woman I described above had posters of Sean Astin on her wall when she was younger instead of Matt Dillon. Now she hosts podcasts with me. Go figure.

I believe I have Gynecomastia (Man Boob Condition). Any advice as to best ways to get rid of them?

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Plastic surgery would be a last resort, but would like to at least give shifting the majority of the size through exercise. Essentially looking for the best exercises, foods, supplements etc etc and time to expect a considerable change, if that is not too much to ask.

You need to seek the advice of a physician. Avoid self diagnosis.
If you do have gynecomastia is is a hormonal imbalance that needs to be addressed by a physician. Only he can diagnose the problem and treat it properly. Exercises and foods aren’t going to effect gynecomastia because the body is predisposed to deposit fat in that area, regardless. Supplements need to be prescribed or recommended by a doctor. You can do yourself great harm by taking supplements not okay’ed by your doctor. (trust me I’m a nurse).
Sorry I couldn’t give you an easier answer, but I hope this helps.
